William Dills

William “Billy” Dills has extensive experience in serous injury cases, oil & chemical spill cases, multi-district litigation, and dangerous product cases. Mr. Dills has represented individuals and businesses throughout the Gulf Coast over the last decade recovering hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients. 

 

For three years Mr. Dills commuted back and forth to New Orleans working alongside the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee in what is now known to be the largest environmental disaster litigation in U.S. history. Mr. Dills was an instrumental part of both the trial team and commercial seafood settlement team. 

 

Mr. Dills has served as lead liaison counsel and co-liaison counsel for two separate oil & chemical spill cases occurring in the Texas bay systems. Both cases resulted in multi-million dollar settlements. 

 

Mr. Dills has also recovered millions of dollars for clients hurt in truck and auto accidents as well as clients injured by dangerous and defective products. Mr. Dills is known as a passionate and fearless advocate for his clients.

Lead liaison counsel in a case involving nearly 2000 claimants, primarily in the commercial fishing industry bringing claims for damages to the fisheries following the spill of hazardous chemicals into Galveston Bay following a ship collision. Ultimately resulting is a significant confidential settlement. 

Key litigation attorney for the Phase I Limitations Trial; Member of the Written Discovery Team with a focus on Blowout Preventers; Youngest Member of the Phase-1 Deposition Team with a focus on regulatory compliance and Blowout Preventers; Phase-2 Deposition Team Member, with a focus on Secondary Intervention Equipment and Methodology; Contributor on post-trial briefing; Liaison working with Court appointed Neutrals for the resolution of claims made by governmental entities, and claims excluded from class participation resulting in the settlement of hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements. 

Co-Counsel for approximately 1,800 businesses and individuals, mostly in the commercial fishing industry who were asserting claims under the Oil Pollution Act (OPA). Billy and his co-counsel were ultimately able to negotiate a eight figure settlement on behalf of the claimants.
